Where to start…

Disjointed rambling incoming.

Stormwind looks amazing, especially around sunset/late afternoon.  The castle redesign, all the little details in the cemetary, the whole lake, which has its own, “wow, this used to be…nothing, and inaccessable…” feeling, and all those cobblestones and bricks.

Northshire Abbey!  What happen!?

The new Duskwood quest setup and progression, along with the new/tweaked storylines, was fantasic.  Banjo and I (on our lowbie mage and warlock, respectively) blew through every quest in the zone in about an hour and a half or two hours, and left feeling, “that was really great”, as opposed to the old days of, “thank god that’s over…”  We’d’ve been faster if Banjo didn’t have to wait for my slow ass to read all the quest text on every quest.  :p

Didn’t quest there, but ran through Darkshire.  MIND = BLOWN.  That’s all I’m gonna say, go see it for yourself.  Gonna take Kog there later to do the quests, and because…bah, just go there and see for yourself!

Ashenvale looks…even more vibrant and colorful than before.  However, the Horde are running friggin’ rampant, so Kog might have to swing south after Darkshore and nom a few filthy hordies.  Also, a volcano!

Northern Barrenssszzzzzzz…

Southern Barrens had some neat quests at the Alliance outpost (name’s escaping me), and DAT GORGE.  Gonna see more of it later on, and it should be really interesting to see the changes.

Flight points.  Flight points everywhere…

So, yeah.  Almost everything, from terrain to textures just looks…better.  Of course, the new 24″ monitor also makes for its own experience, coming from a 20″ (which, admittedly, had really excellent picture and color quality, but not an XBOX HUEG screen).  I took a few screenies of some cool scenery here and there, I’ll probably post a few later on.

EDIT: Darkshore screens posted in the Media section!

As always, the best is saved for last.  In the 4.03a hotfixes, is this little gem.

Druid

  • The damage done by the following abilities has been reduced by approximately 17%: Mangle (Bear), Maul, Lacerate, Pulverize, Swipe (Bear), Thrash.

I’m trying to stick with my, “it doesn’t matter now, content doesn’t matter now, wait until 85 to fly off the handle…”

I’ll let you know how that goes.

/agree Absolutely amazing. I don’t think it’ll be hard to get the Feat of Strength from Deathwing, I just wanna run around and see everything. The devastation of Darkshore actually made me sad. Supah Dupah White Kitteh to the rescue!

I agree! SW is amazing! I haven’t had much chance to look around, busy figuring out how to reforge, re-gem, re-enchant, re-spec. I did run through the Redridge quests really quick (never my favorite zone) and saw that now sometimes upon completion of a quest there’s a pop up to “turn in” and get the follow up quest, rather than always having to run back to the quest giver. That’s pretty cool.

Definitely have to go check out Darkshore. And I want to see if they changed Desolace yet or if that’s in a later patch . . .
